Hannover

Last night, I screwed up. I’m supposed to be cleaning the basement (a major undertaking to say the least) and was in the room where I keep my stash, rearranging things in order to get some kits off the floor. And in the process, found a couple of Airfix kits (actually 1 1/2 kits) of the Hannover CL III 1a. Needless to say, I didn’t put them on the shelf but carried them into my working area and opened them (that’s a heck of a lot more fun than cleaning - ain’t procrastination wonderful?) ended up and spent about 4 hrs working on them (it? only going to get one model out of the pair)

Since the origional interior of the Airfix kit is rather sparse, I’ve decided to do some detail work in there and so far have come up with some questions.

A. Where is the fuel tank - under the pilots seat?

B. What does the instrument panel look like?

C. What equipment did the observer have in his cockpit?

D. What type of mount did the observers MG have?

E. I’d like to replace both MGs with AM and would like some guidance.

F. Anybody know where I can find some pics and/or plans of the Hannover (preferably on the Web but I’m open to suggestion as to books etc)

Thanks in advance for your help and now I’ve got to get back to cleaning the basement.

Hi.

I have detailed plans of the Hannover CL-IIIa, in a reference book. The plans for the Hannover are in 1/72 scale and they show three different views of aircraft. There are no interior drafts of the plane but there is page describing what the interior of the aircraft (mostly observer cockpit) had looked.

The only problem is I don’t have a scanner. If you’re interested I could make a copy of the plans and send it through snail-mail? PM if you’re still interested.

Sean,

PM sent - thanks
