I am currently building a 1/48th scale F-117. Have airbrushed the entire model. The problem I am having is on the tires and landing gear having white paint stick to the base coat when using hand brushes. The paint that I am using is Testors flat white enamel out of the bottle. The paint acting like it has no pigment in it. When I had airbrushed the landing gear and bomb bays didn’t have this problem.
You can’t really paint flat Testors white with a brush, if you need to brush paint parts then you need a paint more designed with brush painting in mind such as Polly S.
Why not airbrush the wheels and landing gear also?
What everyone is saying is that white paint just doesn’t work with a brush. Who knows why, but it just doesnt. There are some brands that work better than others, but I’ve never really come across one that I think does a ‘good’ job with a brush.
As others have mentioned, highly recommend spraying white. It works much better (as you already saw on your landing gear.)
