Almost there, still a bit of work to do. Hoping to finish it off this weekend. This is the hobbycraft kit straight out of the box.

Looks good. I have one in my stash. I always found it an interesting subject. How would you rate this kit or is there anything you would have done differenty now that you look back on it? Are there any parts of the kit you would have liked to replace with aftermarket parts?

Thanks! I’ve got 3 more in the stash eventually I’ll do one of the silver over azure blue birds, and a “Battle of Britain” variant. I’ve never been a big 109 fan, but I’ve always liked its weird offspring (S-199, Ha-1112).
I’m not big on aftermarket parts (other than decals). If I was to use anything, it would probably be a replacement cockpit, or seat.
Construction wise…work on fitting the wing cannons earlier on in the build. They don’t fit onto the wings very well. Also the wing fences, I drilled the mounting holes too big, so some filling there. Next time, I’ll clip the posts off the fences, and just surface mount them to the wing.
