any suggestions on figure face painting ?..any reference material how to render 1/35th and larger figure faces to look decent ?
i have a “How to…” book…“Realistic Military Figures” by Lynn Kessler & Don Winar…any other suggestions ?..tips ?..or techniques ?
i’ve posted almost this same request in Figures…but, as yet…zip.
Cirikili,
I’m doing a class tomorrow on ‘figure painting’ at a local hobby store so I’ll pass on anything good I pick up.
Try Shep Paine’s How to Build Dioramas. There is a step-by-step guide on painting figure faces in it. I haven’t tried it yet, so if you do give it a go, let us know how it went,
Go to the figure forum as they probably have a couple hundred posts on painting faces.
Richard
Thanks y’all…
Taeland…i’m looking forward to sponging any hints you care to share…
Buff…i’ve got his book and have already bookmarked that section…
Richard…did that and got some great insight…
once i’ve the capability and some not so embarrassing results…your discerning eyes will be the first to view…
thanks again[:D]
Cirikili,
The class will take another 3 weekends to finish but we did mostly prep work on Saturday. We airbrushed the figure with a primer which made the details (and imperfections) just stand out. We were then able to fix any problems with the figures before painting.
I’ll pass on more next week. [:)]
