I’ve had mixed feelings about this kit since starting it. The detail and fit on some parts is pretty good and others pretty miserable. The variable intakes aren’t fitting well and I’ve spent about as much time as I care to for what I know is going to be a mediocre result. I’d like to do a Mud Hen, but may move on to a different project and try a different kit in the future.

I think I’m right about there, but letting it sit on the bench for a day to contemplate.
I’m trying to decide if I should buy another identical kit and use the good assemblies I have from this one as a head start or go big and get the Tamiya 1:32. Of course, I could just banish the Strike Eagle subject from my bench and never speak it’s name again, but that’s no fun![:)]
I have the GWH F-15E also, thinking it was going to be this awesome building experience for the price it was going for. Haven’t done much more than cut all the parts off the sprues for the cockpit subassembly. Not very impressed with it so far. The more I see from Chinese manufacturers, the more I stay away from them.
I also have the Tamiya 1/32 F-15E that I’m in the middle of building. Definitely an old model that still holds its own against more modern manufacturing processes. One tip I can give on that one as a build pitfall is the ejection seats. They have these mounting stands on the bottom of them that are twice as high as they should be. If you don’t shorten them, the canopy won’t close. Its also a little dated, detail-wise, so I highly recommend aftermarket stuff for the cockpit to help dress it up. It has the basic quality structure though that makes modifications well worth it, with minimal effort.
I’ve been dressing my cockpit up with a hodge-podge of stuff from Quinta (lots of stuff on the seats), Eduard (Used parts of the Eduard cockpit kit for the instrument panel and side panels), and stuff I scratch-built. HAD to scratchbuild the throttles, because even the Tamiya throttles are kind of a joke.
I’ve heard good things as well bad about this kit but I saw mrversatile (Gil) build one of these elsewhere and he did a fair job of it. I’ll see if I can dig the build thread up so as to be of some sort of help to you.
That’s something, the GWH Mig 29 on the other hand was a fantastic build.
I took it to completion just to say I did. I’m not sure if it will make it to display status as I’m not super happy with the details. Some kit induced problems that led to mistakes of my own.
All said, I don’t think I’ll be buying any more GWH kits.
