im currently building a u.s. m151a2 ford mutt, this is my first model to build, my problem is that the manual is written in korean, i cant understand a thing, there is a little truoble in building the jeep, the big problem is when i have to color it, i can’t read what color should be applied on that area. any of you who have build that jeep give me any idea what to do? and another thing, what would be the best primers available, or should i use? could mr. surfacer 1000 do the job?

first of all… dont buy from those wierd brands. use a testors primer. and spray it in a olive drab. paint the seat a brownish tint.
Yeah I agree, stay away from the off-brands. Some of these companies are around for a few months and bam, gone. Plus, the engineering of the molds may be susspect as well. Testors primer and OD will be fine.
The M151A2 is a pretty decent kit, except that the rear end sits too low, but it still builds up nicely. Do you have the original Tamiya or the Academy copy? Operationally, the M151A2s were normally painted in the US Army four color MERDC scheme. The four colors used were based on the area where the vehicle is located. Normally a woodland/temperate scheme was standard. The base color of this vehicle was forest green, the secondary color was red brown and there were small squiggles of tan and black “sea gull” shaped "V"s applied. Seats were a very faded OD green.
On earlier vehicles, the wheels were painted green and red brown (alternating). Later vehicle wheels were just painted flat black.
In a desert location, replace the green with sand (more yellow than the tan), jungle location replace the red brown with a light green.

thanks for your advice, i bought the academy copy, because its less expensive and this is just my first model to build, i’m afraid to buy expensive models because it might just go to waste. i think i’ll just use the woodland scheme for my model. again, thanks a lot. have a nice day!
The Academy is the exact same kit as the Tamiya. I’ve got both.
