I’ve been asked this question and i thought i might get a little help from you guys
I have seen pictures of his plane with the D Day markings on the wing and fuselage and pictures of them just on the fuselage, have you any idea which one is right?
And have you any idea of the right colours for the camouflage

Using Tamiya paints.
Camo’
RAF Dark Green = AS-9.
RAF ocean grey = AS-10.
Underside
RAF medium sea grey = AS-11.

On that chart all the Tamiya colours are T:XF and the Tamiya colours i have are AS !
I’m a bit confused as to which is the correct colour [sigh]

Ian as to the invasion stripes if they were following standard orders the wings and fuselage stripes would have been added just before D-Day. Sometime later orders were given to paint over the wing stripes and the stripes visible on the topside of the fuselage. They stripes on the bottom of the fuselage were to be left on usally from below the national insignia. Hope this helps. I do not have any conversions for the Tamiya paints with the AS prefix either sorry.

According to Humbrol RAF Dark Green is H30 but I don’t think there are many these days that believe it. H163 is probably nearer to the correct colour as it matches to Xtracolor X1 BS 641 RAF Dark Green. Ocean Grey is H106 but lacks the bluish tone of Ocean Grey, tending towards a sea grey. Medium Sea Grey is H165.
