I’ve just arrived here today (hope my english is not too bad [:D] ), and this is a little transcription of me:
I was born in 1967 and started modeling in the age of eight. With some breaks I restarted in 2001, my interests are mainly aircraft of WW2 in 1/48. I’m not “top notch”, but give my best!

Andreas, Germany

Welcome to FSM, Andreas!

Hey Andreas! Willkommen!

I think you will enjoy it here. What part of Germany are you from? I have only been to Dusseldorf and Frankfurt but I loved it there!

Welcome to the gang Andreas.

Welcome to the FSM Forums [#welcome]. Your English is fine. See you on the Aircraft Forum.

Regards, Rick

Welcome to the forums. Dont worry about being top notch. It takes time to learn and everyone here is glad to help out whenever possible.

@ all: thanks for the warm welcome! [bow]
@ tho9900: Dusseldorf is not far away from my hometown - about 35 miles south of it (Gelsenkirchen). It is in the “Ruhr Valley”, the largest industrial area in Germany and Europe.
@ KINGTHAD: what is with this picture, I only see sand ?! [:D]

Wilkkommen! Did I spell it Right? I just started taking German Classes yesterday!
You will have lots of fun here!

Hi rebelreenactor, almost right.
You have to spell it this way: Willkommen

If you’ve more questions concerning german language feel free to ask me!

Auf Wiedersehen John [(-D]

Hello Andreas, Welcome to the forum.

ok I will be the first to ask… who is the pilot in the picture you have and why was he called the star of Africa? It would be an interesting model build to research his plane and build one…

I was in the US Navy and took patients from the Desert Storm war to the hospital at Wiesbaden, but the Navy doctor I flew with went to the University of Dusseldorf for his degree in Anaesthesiology. He married a girl from Dusseldorf. I spent several weeks there and that area was so beautiful! I was impressed with the castles traveling along the Rhine, but the beauty of the land in the Dusseldorf was great!!!

I also met Claudia Schiffer when I was in Dusseldorf… but that is another topic not related to modelling… It was nothing special, she worked in the bookstore at the university then…

ok I had to look it up: 158 confirmed kills!!!

I think I feel my next build coming on…

----snip---- (from a movie review)

Der Stern von Afrika

Witness the dashing exploits of Hans-Joachim Marseille, a Luftwaffe ace with 158 confirmed kills. During WW2, Marseille gained glory as an attack-loving Flying Devil, while his superb fighting tactics made him one of Germany’s most renowned aces. This was proved on September 1, 1942 when he shot down 17 aircraft in a single day. Directed by Alfred Weidenmann; featuring Joachim Hansen and Mariane Koch. West Germany, 1957, B&W, 105 minutes, German with English subtitles.

Right, he was one of the most famous german fighter aces…

Quotation: “…I also met Claudia Schiffer when I was in Dusseldorf… but that is another topic not related to modelling…” Heeey, slow down! Is Claudia Schiffer a model or not, he? (and I feel my next build coming on [(-D] !)

[#welcome]Andreas to the FSM Forums, enjoy your time with us.

Servus Andreas, and welcome to the forum! Marseille seems like an appropriate signature pic, considering your forum name: Jagdgeschwader 27[;)]. Have you got anything to do with this great site by any chance?:
