If a Mustange Loses it’s gun site does that make it a gilding??
lost my gun site somewhere between the office and the paint shop and cannot find it. Was there a stang without a gunsite (d model) in service and what was it’s function? [:(!][V][:I][:(][banghead][censored][%-)][D)][#offtopic]

Only thing that comes to mind (other than civilian restored P-51s) are a couple of P-51s the Army operated and maintained as chase aircraft for several of their helicopter programs - I believe they were Cavalier conversions the Army purchased and painted gloss OD and White. They were retired a few years ago.
Dang, you’re building the 72nd Tamiya kit, right? 'Twer it 48th, I’d send you one…
And to be a gelding, a Stang would have to lose it’s… uh… weapons package… [;)][:p]

Doesn’t one of the resin companies make a line of gunsights? I know I saw a resin gunsight last week that was for several WW II types, and you could buy the gunsight only. And there are some PE ones out there, but I haven’t seen them sold separately. I’d check with Meteor Productions site (can someone supply the web address?). That’s where I saw the CR one.
