okay for those of you who are new to the group and wernt in the previous build here are a few pics of what the MAZ-18 ZZZ(Triple Zeta) Sentinel Ver. Custom unit is.
keep in mind this kit is still even after all the modification is still fully transformable. if you check out my photobucket it has some more pictures of the process that it took to get there.
I am really hating the lack of detail on this Zaku. I have to rework where the tubing for the legs plugs into the thigh and lower leg. This isn’t the HGUC Zaku, it is from the 8th MS Team combo box. I ordered a HGUC 1/144 Powered GM along with a Dom. I am going to continue work on the Zaku until I get pissed enough to pitch it.
i hear you on that dude i have had my far share of gundams that piss me off infact here soon i am going to be putting the perfect grade eva 1 together and i hear it is a total pain to put together. well i have completed putting the meteor and the dendrobium together and i have a feeling i am getting in over my head here for the chop job and not to sure if this is going to work i am not sure if this will work but hey lets give it a try anyways. i will have photos up soon probably tommarrow or so since i have to get to work.
Malich now you have me scared of my 8th MS Team Zaku [B)], guess I will be building my HGUC one. I just ordered the Powered GM also, which Dom type did you order?
No progress for me right now, trying to finish up a 1/8 resin Rei from Evangelion.
I bought the new 1/144 HGUC Powered GM and the Dom/Rick Dom. I had ordered the B-Club hands for the kit too but I decided to drop the hands since the ones that come with the kit look almost identical to the aftermarket parts.
If the it’s the 8th MS Team Set that includes the RX-79 and MS-06J in 1/144 scale then yep the kit lacks a bit in detail. It’s a nice kit to just throw together to practice on. I will continue to work at it like I said, until I get so furious that I will just skip it down the freakin street!!! [}:)]
frog foot: you have any photos of the rei i would like to see them if i could.
and so malich: you gonna battle scar the Zaku after the trip down concrete lane? see what real damage looks like. i have done that to my kits before i know it is kinda disrespect but oh well it makes for some really interesting effects.
I airbrushed the skin and white so far. Still need to airbrush the rest of the dress and the shoes. Hair still needs a another coat. And I am not looking forward to painting the eyes very much.
Okay, I am done with the Zaku. Not done as in finished but I just can’t take it anymore.
So my 1/144 HGUC Dom should be here by Monday or Tuesday. I may do some testing on the zaku’s feet but that will be the last of the work done on it. So scratch one Zaku and add the Dom.
well i have a friend who has a friend that happens to have a 1/144 Dendrobium for sale and will be getting it for around $100-150 so cross your fingers i will be able to afford it with NDK anime con coming up on oct 6-8 so i hope to pick up some new kits then and will be able to add those to the list. well i hope to have my batts chyarged for the pics of the Meteor and Dendrobium and get some help on how to put them together and still attach the ZZZ. hopefully have them up tommarrow or the next day. have to take the new additions to the vet tommarrow (kittens). i will post pick up soon and can anyone explain as to how post picks in a reply i can’t seem to figure it out. well gotta get cleaning the apt so ttyl.
Well I am still waiting on my Dom from hobby Japan. I figured it would have been here by now but to no avail it hasn’t shown up. However I did do some modeling this weekend. I worked on a 1/144 Zugock-E. I am a big fan of the Amphibious Mobile Suits. Once I get my 1/144 kits done I plan on picking up some 1/100 scale versions.
Hey Malich what method of shipping did you use? The Z’Gok’E is one of my favorite mobile suits also. No progress for me trying to finish a old 1/144 Rick Dom.
Yeah like I said I like all of the amphibious Mobile Suits. I would love to do a Zeon Jukon (refit) like in the opening of 0080 War in the Pocket. Do/did Bandai make a Jukon Model? If not what would I use for a base ship to start with?
I posted my Zugock in progress thread in the Sci-Fi section. The last pic of the Zugock has the color scheme I am going with.
Hey Mustang, would you add my Zugock to my group build list. Thanks!
The color scheme is from a pic I grabbed somewhere off of the internet. Not sure where I got it from. If you want I can email it to you.
I finished the torpedo heads and have them mounted now. Since I cut all of the vison slots out I need to come up with a way to mount the eye. I was thinking of cutting some strips of styrene and adding them as a backing to the vision slots. I would paint them black and drill out the area I want to have the Mono-eye in.
well okay the guy who was going to sell me the Dendrobium skipped town on me and i come to find out that he was just selling it to get drugs so that went through the floor but oh well NDK is coming up!!! i have posted the progress on the small Dendrobium and the ZZZ and the meteor kits and if you can give me any suggestions plaese let me know i need to figure a way to combine the three together and yet still make the ZZZ seperateable and transformable and to make the weapons platfor (Meteor and Dendrobium) a little transformable also if you have any ideas let me know it is easier to just let you go check the photo album out since i have so many photos and the project goes for so long. well anyways Malich nice scheme should look real nice when done. for a suggestion on how to hold the eye on i would use a bit of the part trees to hold it to a part or several areas of the inside of the head. well i don’t have much else to say at the moment i finally have restarted work on the Tallgeese III and should be done witht the shoulders come the end of next week i may have to just put a few kits aside in order to finish one and then continue on the next. well cu laters.
Malich: Thanks for the link. Are you going to use the same blue and tan or another variation?
mustangs102: Too about the Dendrobium! It sounded like a really good deal.
Have you tried sketching out some possible plans for you weapons platform? That’s usually how I work out mod ideas. I throw most of them out – which saves a lot of time in the end, because I’m not building potential failures.
A Mejias: Yep I am probably going to go with a Blue-Gray and Light-Tan.
I posted updates to my In-Progress thread. The links to the pics are there. But here is a highlight… Head torpedoes are in place, the vision slits are cut out, and the shoulders have had styrene added with a bit of detail. I still need to finish adding the detail to the right shoulder. I am also repositioning where the upper arm connects to the claw. By doing this the Z-Gok’s arms will hang more to it’s sides.
I am hoping to enter the modeling competition at Gator Con '06 in Lafayette on the 28th of Oct.
