I’m building Academy’s 1/48 I-16 as Boris Safanov’s machine, (see sig for picture) but the kit doesn’t contain either the gun sight or the gun camera which sits behind the pilot.
Question is, does anyone know any sites or reference works which might show these in more detail, so that I could scrathbuild them?

I think I’ll leave both the gunsight and the camera until I can find more info. At least they are both external fittings, so easy to add afterwards.

I have this same one coming up in my stack very soon, and I’m going to do the Spanish one because I like all that color. I plan to paint the national markings on the rudder myself, so I’ve got the match the purple. Also, although they provide the large red areas for the wings (covering about the outside third of it) I’m sure I’ll paint that. But I don’t believe the callout’s OD suggestion for the overall color. What would the russians have painted the a/c they sent over to Spain? I know it would be greener than OD. Also, if anyone knows of any AM parts that might dress up the naked cockpit (can’t see a whole lot in there), could they pls pass it on? Eduard might be might only bet here.
