hey everyone, well im new to the forums so im introducing myself in the “Introduce Yourself” forum. [:D]
im very new to modeling so i came here looking for advice/wisdom/guidance. i have already goten a bunch of good input from some of you. seems to be a lot of EXTREMELY tallented builders around here form some of the work i have seen. i wonder how long it has taken some of you to get to where your at.
about me. im in the US Army statined at Ft. Hood, TX with the 4th Infantry division. been in for 2 years. returned from a tour in iraq earlier this spring. slated to return in the fall tentatively. i serve as an armor crewman on an M1A2 SEP Abrams MBT. anyone has any questions about the abrams im happy to answer them. know a little about bradleys too, but not too much. i serve as the loader for the time being but will be moving into the gunners seat soon. im single and living in the barracks. this means i dont have too much space to accumulate equipment or large scale builds. it also means (since i have my own room) that i can build in peace and quiet and relatively undisturbed. except for the occasional drunken knock at the door on weekends.[:)] im active with computers, keeping my car running, watching lots of movies, and now modeling. have any questions, fire away.
im glad i came across the site, looks like it will help me out a lot.
Welcome aboard, White_1…! You would not by any chance have any pics of the engine bay once the turbine has been removed??? I have a few already, but I’m always looking for new shots and different angles to get a better idea of what I’m suppose to scratchbuild!
In any case, looking forward to seeing more of you in here!
Welcom to the forum, White_1, I have been playing with the idea of building an M1 for some time now. So, you’ll probably find an e-mail from me some day.
[#welcome] to our “little” international family of scale modelers … the FineScale Modeler Community … I’m glad you stopped in … checked things out … and joined up … spend some time reading … and posting … we all gain when members are active !!! Oh, and Ryan … thanks to you and all of your fellow soldiers, from me and mine for your service to your country … as I am sure you understand … Freedom is never free … God bless … [swg]
Welcome aboard. I´m a newby too but as an old jarhead I just wanna say eyes-right! to you and every other with the courage to shoulder your ruck and advance to the next objective.
