Group builds, what about speed builds?

Has anyone ever held a 1 or 2-day speed build event? Get your old “someday” kits and get together in someone’s basement to build some decent kits one day/evening and finish them on day 2. Might be a fun way to enjoy a build w/o worrying about tread patterns, filling/sanding, P-E and precise weathering.

and be unsatisfied with a glue bomb. i know of construction lines where half a dozen guys get together to build a bunch of figures, one builds, one base coats, one washes, one weathers etc. but full kits might be a bit difficult. theres always build the same kit builds. short time frame, see who can build the best version of a single kit

There have been a few “weekend madness” group builds here. The last one was in October or so. They usually kick off on a Friday night and end Sunday night. It certainly is a challenge to get a kit done to reasonable standards in that time frame. Takes a good kit choice and lots of planning to assure the smoothest quick build.
