ok, I for one was willing to try the new format for GB’s. but after a month or so, I find my participation and enthusiasm very low for GB’s now. I find it much better when they are on the topic page to jump out and catch your eye.
It’s not my call, but the other option that came up and hasn’t been tried yet was to let them float within their respective subject forums.
I don’t like that idea either…
[2c]I like the way they’re set up now. Now when I go onto the aircraft forum I don’t have to scroll halfway down the page to find the topics. [2c]
its a little different when your involved with them…
I sort of like the set up now as well. Being involved in one of the armor builds hasn’t presented any problems yet.
There are two distinct views. I can see how someone who - for example - is only interested in figures, and usually only goes to the figure forum, would not like to have to go to a new forum to get to the figure build-alongs. However, I also see the point of view from someone who browses by checking “today’s posts”, and is not involved in the build-alongs, getting frustrated by seeing seven to ten build-along posts at the top of the forum post list.
I really don’t know what else can be done or tried. Maybe there will be a fantastic idea down the road…we’ll see (fingers crossed).
I noticed a huge difference from the shermie build to the builds I’m involved in now.
I prefer the way it’s set up now. I am involved in 2 GB’s & don’t have any problem finding them or accessing them. Before, there were so many stickeys to scroll through to find new posts that I found that frustrating. I’m not sure I understand how having a dedicated GB Forum could result in less enthusiasm for GB’s.
