I’m still pretty new to the hobby, and I want to take part in a group build. I was wondering what exactly is a group build. What kinds of people qualify? Are there specific rules to follow? Do I have to fill out an ‘entry form’? How will I be able to show my work?
Thanks guys!
a group build is where a couple of people to decide to build the same kit, or vehicle, or subject, etc.
anyone who wants to join can.
usually the rules can be determined for each build by reading the thread. some builds might not allow AM or PE, and others will. things like that.
nope!! no entry form. just post a message in that thread saying you’d like to join.
if you have a digital camera, its the easiest way to show pictures. you just upload them on the internet. (RonUSMC has a site for us forum goers to use, if you like. here’s the thread for instructions http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10017 ) then just post your pics in the GB thread.
may i recomend the dday gb or the nmf (if you are a flyboy), also the armor forum has some good builds at the moment. when you make your selection(s) the waitress will be happy to help.

yes, I would reccommend the dday GB, as you can do anything from dday. ships planes armor, figures, etc.
They’ve covered it completely
Nice…[^] So a group build is a totally in-formal thing then? That’s awsome. i will join one as soon i find some free time. i’m pretty busy studying… I’ve got a major Science test coming up[banghead][xx(].
But thanks a bunch for the information everyone.[tup]
Welcome Kiowa Warrior. Group builds are positive fun and a great learning experience.
the good thing is that the dday and the nmf builds are long term builds. you will have plenty of time to make a choice. hope to see you in one ( or more ).
joe
I can’t really think of anything around here that is formal anyway. [:D]
[#ditto][#ditto]
Yeah especially when it comes to speeling and grammer. [(-D] Shows what my edjukashun has done for me
You guys mentioned the nmf group build a couple of times. what does that stand for?
It stands for Natural Metal Finish. It’s something the flyboys do and all I know about it what it stands for.
Ya mean I can take off the Black Tie, what a relief, it was starting to chaff.[:p]
If you are building an A/C that’s predominantly done in a Natural Metal Finish, then you are most welcome to join in the fun! Subjects range from the Trainers of the '30s to the Bombers WWII to the jetfighters late 60’s! just holler if you’re interested!
Yeah, join the D-day group build. Really anyone could be intrested. It can be ships, tanks, planes, jets-hey jets? (maybe me-262?), figures and anything else.
So ArmorMaster [shouldnt that be ARMOUR] if i was join the DDAY group build what sort of timescale are you looking at because im already in a group build for us Aussies that finishes in November.
You see now ive got German S boats and minisubs in my mind,Guess ill just have to go to the LHS and buy one or two.
J.S.
the dday build starts june 6 and finishes aug 6. check out the thread for the full details on it.

nope, that would be UK spelling (which is also used by former colonies of the UK like Australia and Canada and NZ, etc.) america uses spellings like honor, color, armor, etc.
Does anyone know if there is a kit of the Higgins boats used in the Landings?
