Looks like there is where i spill my guts…er…i mean, introduce myself! I’m Roger, and i had been absent from the craft for about 10 years now, but i’m announcing my return here. Kinda interesting too. My wife and i were talking about what to do with the home office decor while she is currently overseas (we are a dual military couple), and she uttered the words that every guy loves to hear (it makes no difference to me!) So with a sick and evil grin on my face, here i am with a new line of projects and am looking forward to really jumping into them. That is, once my new airbrush and compressor arrive! (I bought em off ebay, what can i say?)
It has been an awful long while, i’ll admit. I’m far from being pretty good, but i’m hoping my fellow nerds here can help me out with that! I’m mostly an aircraft guy that sticks with 1/48 scale, but i’ve been known to do some cars, ships and sci fi from time to time.
Currently residing in Orange County, California. Like i said, my wife and i are both military. I’m a crew chief based out of Los Alamitos Army Airfield, so i do have some inside knowledge of Helicopters- though i dunno if this will help me so much with modelling. Also very much in love with my car as well (70 Charger 500), enjoy photography, rock climbing, and anything taking me into the desert (hence the name “DesertRat”). Anyways, i look forward to picking some of your brains from time to time, and hopefully sharing my progress with you gents (and ladies, if they’re in here too). Have a great evening!
Checking your profile, it appears you’ve changed vocations since you signed up, so I thought I’d send this picture for your enjoyment. I took the photo last year and added the text. To say the least, it was very popular with the traffic cops of the Ottawa (Ontario) Police, though PR management thought it would convey the wrong idea if distributed as a “postcard” to drivers on random stops. Can’t imagine why… [:-^]
lol! That is awesome! I know a California Highway Patrol buddy of mine has something similar to it, but doesn’t quite have the same humor as yours does. That’s good stuff…
Yeah, the last 12 months have proven to be pretty different. It’s not just the new career that has changed, but a vast number of things actually. Relocation, divorce, etc. Good, bad, or indifferent, I’ve been given a brand new and fresh start in life. Not many people get an opportunity like I had, so I’m excited!
