greetings from the jewel city of the Big Sky

My name is Tony Partlow, I have been a subscriber to Fine Scale Modeler from the very first issue published by Kalmbach. I am a native Texan who got transplanted to Montana.

I enjoy all forms of modeling. I have been modeling since the age of 6, My father bought me a Lindberg Stinson Voyager after returnig from his 2 week summer training for the Air Force.

I mainly model Navy aircraft from all eras. but mostly prior to the change over to the current bland subdued schemes. My dream is to build a 1/72 scale model of the U.S.S. Independence (CVA-62) with the complete airwing.

I am current ly building the Trumpeter 1/32 TBF-1c with the Black Box interior and the Eduard Photo etch accessories.

Glad to be part of the group and look forward to any and all post.

Tony

Welcome to the Forums Tony [#welcome]. If you ever build that 1/72 USS Independence, I would wait in line to see it [:)]. Glad you’re here.

Hey Tony, my name’s Eric Olson. I grew up in Libby Montana and have cousins living outside of Dallas. When I was about 11 my oldest brother who was in the Navy at the time brought me home a huge model of the USS Enterprise. It must have took me a whole tube of glue. I wished I had it today, do-over! Good luck with your Avenger, I think.

1/72 USS Independence, eh? Good thing you live in Big Sky Country! That’s quite an ambitious project. Good luck!

Welcome to FSM, Tony!
