Greetings from S. E. Michigan

Hello all,

I’m a long lost modeler that just found this forum. Must have been asleep!! I’ve known about Finescale for years.

Built my first model when I was 7, a 1/72 Aurora(I believe) B-58 Hustler. Went on to build a couple of hundred ships, planes, tanks, and a few cars in high school and in the service.

I intend to start building some ship models w/photo etched details, so I’ll likely have plenty questions for the experienced amoung you. Then it’s off to resin ship kits.

Later.

Welcome to the Forums Bill [#welcome] from a fellow SE Michigan modeler. I’m from the Plymouth area. My main squeeze are aircraft, so can’t help much with the bath tub toys [:)].

Regards, Rick

Welcome to FSM!
I lived in St. Clair shores and on Selfridge AFB for a while. Are you anywhere near there? Ever heard of Telstar Hobby Shop?

Welcome

Thad

[#welcome] to the asylum forums.

Thanks for the friendly greetings. I live in Highland, Mi. and work in Dearborn.

Rick, I drive by Plymouth every day twice. Haven’t seen any of your planes flying overhead. Momma isn’t to thrilled about my “boats” in the bathtub, but she got a chuckle out of your post.

Brian, I get over to St. Clair Shores on occasion, but haven’t been there in a little while. Telstar sounds familiar. I think I’ve been to most of the hobby shops in the greater Detroit area at least once.

I do like Great Lakes Train and Hobby in Utica, Joe’s in Farmington, and Rider’s in Madison Heights. Also for military modelers, the two Old Guard shops are nice. Although the original on Ford rd. is under new ownership with a new name. Plenty of hobby shops in this part of the state!!! I need to start buying lottery tickets!!

G’day Bill [#welcome] to the FSM forums, enjoy your stay and be ready for a different modeling experience than you had when you were a kid.

Darren
