Greetings from rainy London,UK!

Evening all, what a fascinating little site you have here. Have just taken up modelling again after a six-year break for girls, beer and minor things like an education because my girlfriend bought me a new kit (1/72 airfix P-38) - Boy is she regretting it now! I’m all about aircraft, especially World War 2,and mainly 1/72,although I’m about to get stuck into a 1/24 Airfix Bf-109,I saw it in the window of a charity-shop for a couple of quid, unopened and everything still bagged, and couldn’t resist! Erm,what else,oh yeah, in the full-scale world I’m 23 and a drummer in a very loud band!

Welcome to FSM devonaden. It’s good to have the girlfriend restart you into the hobby. Now you can blame her for the next 1000 kits that you end up buying. LOL I’m sure you are going to enjoy it here.

Welcome to the family, devonaden!

At least you had the good fortune to take a break from modeling for those things that are still near and dear to our hearts! Education is important, too, I hear. LOL

Hope you enjoy your stay, and as a fellow musician, (bassist) break a few skins for me!

Devonaden - welcome, have a wander around and enjoy. Ask as many questions as you want - there’s a lot of skill out there and a lot of people willing to share it, and don’t hesitate to add your own opinions and thoughts, we’d like to hear them as well. That’s what this is all about.

P.S. I hope you enjoy the Braille Scale (only kidding) Bf-109!! Should be impressive when done. Post some pictures when it’s complete.

Cheers,
LeeTree

Haha,Braille scale, that’s a new one on me! Sadly it’s unlikely to be impressive enough to put on the site, and being from the backwaters I sadly don’t have anything technical like a scanner, but I’ll give it my best shot! Cheers for the warm welcome chaps.

Hi,

Welcome to you !
Braille scale is not my favorite, but there is always something good to share differents techniques and scale !

Enjoy this forum.

London is the backwaters? I have (distant) relatives near Moray Firth-that is more like backwaters.[:D]
Welcome to the boards.

Devonaden,
You might not think your Bf-109 will be good enough to grace the pages of the Reader Gallery in FSM, but I’d still like to see it.
I hope you build for fun, not to impress others. I actually build full-time on a contract basis, and my clients are in awe of my work, but I look at some of it and am embarassed to take money for it. We are our own harshest critics.
You might not think it’s up to scratch, but it very well might INSPIRE others (as well as yourself) and that’s what it’s all about.
Go on - see if you can make a difference to someone else - what more could you want?
Cheers, buddy

Devonaden,

about that Halifax, it’s not that difficult to make new canopies you know. I’m not a great expert but I could show you how to do it. I’m in Kent, 45 mins from London.

Hi ya devonaden …

London may be rainy … but it is always warm and sunny here … … did I write that bit of drivel … anyway … Welcome to the FSM Community Modeling Forum(s) … a great place for beginner and “old hand” alike.

I am glad that you stopped by and joined up! You will find us to be a very diverse and friendly group of modelers from all over this planet and (I think) a couple of others … . Have fun! [^]
