Greetings from MIflyer

Hey everyone! I’m Kevin, and I hail from the Mitten state. I’m a Marine vet and a pilot, fresh out of college as of December, and just getting my feet under me as a newbie flight instructor at Lansing Community College.

It’s a total blast. Some days I still have trouble believing that I get paid to fly for a living! Other days, well… let’s just say I turn over the controls to nineteen-year-old kids who are so nervous that they sometimes forget which way is up! [(-D]

I’ve been a casual reader here for a few months and decided to join up. As you can see, I’m a confessed aerophile, but I can and have been tempted to the dark side… I’m currently working my (slow) way through my very first armor build, a Tamiya T-34, and I’m having a blast with it. As for aircraft, I’m mostly into fixed-wing: recon planes, air racers, USMC subjects of any era, and of course my area of personal expertise, civil aviation. Basically anything with wings displaying a graceful line or rumbly engine note will hook me solid. [swg]

Hoping to learn a lot from the collective experience of everyone here. Cheers!

Kev

Hi and [#welcome] to the forums Kev! Thanks for your Service, too. Someone has to show which way is up!

(I was once involved in a meeting of aviators, unrelated to flying, and I kept hearing the words…“I want some hours…or…I need some more hours”. I caught on)

Have fun here…lots to be had

[#welcome] to the forums Kevin! Thank you for service, and good to see another aerophile here. [tup]

Welcome to the Forums Kevin [#welcome]. Glad you’re here.

Regards, Rick

The two things that pilots can never get enough of: hours, and coffee! [:D]

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! Looking forward to seeing you around!

Kev

Kev, [#welcome] to the Forums.

Welcome to the forums Kev!

Thanks wyoroy and Gun Tech! I’ve joined a couple of aircraft GBs, so it looks like I’m making myself at home pretty quickly. See you around fellas! [8D]

Kevin

Ya’ never know who your going to run across here! [:D]

Welcome, Bro.

Yeah Kev, this meeting was about (of all things) contaminated canned food getting to us in the Philippines…a squadron Flight Surgeon whom hadn’t been flying much stated…“Next time I get up I’m spinning her on her back and flying the length of the runway 6 feet off the deck!”

I don’t know if he ever did it…he was about 35 years old and was feeling shunted aside.

This was NAS Cubi Point circa 1976

Well, well! Hi Dave! [:D]

Well, that kind of stunt would get ya grounded forever, so he probably didn’t. But knowing Navy pilots… he thought about it! [8D]

Hello to you as well. Marine huh? Guess I won’t hold that against ya.[:P]

[#welcome] I hope you post pics of your Tamiya T-34 over in the armor section!
