Greetings from Ireland!

Hello fellow modellers. Just wanted to say a quick intro.
I used to read FSM back before the stores near me went out of business many years ago. A great magazine- in fact I still have an issue of ‘Great Scale Modelling’ on my bookshelf- I always liked that special issue- plenty of inspiration in it!

Anyway, I’ve been modelling since 2003 and mostly do AFVs/Tanks and figs but also do planes, cars and W40K from time to time.

A few pics of recent(ish) work.

This is Border Models 1/35 Allied Grizzly Tank- its from a video game called ‘Command & Conquer Red Alert 2’.

Young Miniatures Soviet Night Witch Bust.

Young Miniatures WW2 101st Airborne Radio Operator at Carentan.

Gecko Models 1/35 GS Truck.

I’m looking forward to exploring the forum- cheers guys!

(Edited on 8th June 2025 to correct a typo- I’ve been modelling since 2003, not 2008 as I wrote in my original post.)

Welcome to the forum! Some very impressive builds, especially the bust. The tank has the most interesting paint scheme I’ve seen. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

You are most welcome! Great work on all those subjects. I’d like your opinion on the Young miniatures - I’ve been looking at the Korean war GI bust.
Stunning stuff!

Fáilte! Those busts are amazing, I don’t think I could replicate those given 100 years to practice. The eyes…those are impressive. Often, even my scale cockpit pilots have ridonculous eyes, I just can’t pull that off…

Thank you for such a warm welcome fellas!

@keavdog - Young Miniatures are top class pieces- you would not be disappointed with any of their products. I’ve not seen that Korean war piece myself but I’ve done many of their pieces over the years and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good figure bust.

@Cbowling - For that tank scheme I went with a blue-grey four color scheme that took some inspiration from the color the tank is in the video game (blue-gray) and from the hard edged scheme the Swedish military use on their AFVs. Here are some shots just after it was painted.

It is always amazing when someone creates a new color scheme. A most impressive look, on this one and a nice addition to the usual armor colors.

Thank you very much! It is nice to do some sci-fi/what if/fantasy builds every so often as you can really go to town with colors and camo schemes etc.

Welcome along to the forum!
