Greetings and Happy New Year to everyone! Im from the chilly UK and have just got back into modelling after a few years break after serving in the RAF.
Im primarily interested in 1/72nd USAAF aircraft and have got quite a collection of unmade kits sitting in my wardrobe ready for the off!
Ive just started Academy’s P-51B and so far so good! Ive just bought a Airbrush and compressor and building up courage to start using it!
Any advice anyone can give or if I can help anyone with research etc please let me know!
Best Regards

Hello Mark,
Yours is the first message that I’ve read on this site-nice to bump into another freezing Brit ! I’ve been using an Aztec 320 air brush for about 2 years now with a badger compressor and the best advice that I can give you is take your time and practice. Try painting a cheap or unwanted kit first-believe me it’s worth it. I’m only starting to get good results now that I’ve had a bit of practice! Another thing I learnt from a good mate who runs his own model shop(lucky bugger) is use good masking tape/solution and make sure you’ve finished the painting before the decals go on -if you use hasagawa decs then gloss coat them-tape will still pull them off your prized F-104C!
It’s one hell of a job to get those markings back on again!
Welcome back to the hobby mate,
Regards, Tango 1.
