Greetings fellow modelers

My name is Kevin Krueger and I’m posting here for the first time. I’ve been away from the hobby for about 3 years now due to moving twice across the country (midwest to east to west).[C):-)] Now that I’m getting myself settled…AGAIN, I’ll be rejoining the ranks of the molded plastic challenged individuals who frequent sites such as this. [banghead]

My modeling interests are:

anything that interests me!

I have done reviews for modelingmadness.com so I’m sure some of you may be familiar with me and/or my work. Anyway, “hello” to all my fellow modelers.

I have just one question for anyone who might know. A few years ago, there was on article in FSM where an individual converted a Hasegawa 1/32 P-51D into a P-51B. I was thinking it was Paul Boyer but I could be wrong. I tried the archives on this site but found no results. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place. Can anyone help?

Merry Christmas everyone,

Kevin

Welcome to the Forums Kevin [#welcome]. Sorry i can’t help with your conversion question.

Merry Christmas, Rick

[#welcome] Kevin! As for the article, I think I may have it at home. IIRC, it’s in one of the FSM WWII special editions. I have them somewhere, I’ll take a looksie tonight when I get home.

Was it the one painted in the markings of Don Gentile?

Frank,

Come to think of it, you may be correct. Thanks for checking!

Kevin

Frank,

Yes it was. I believe the issue had an article by my friend Rusty White and his DKM Bismarck ship model. If that is so, then it is one of the WWII specials.

Kevin-

YES, that’s the one! I remember that Bismarck model ploughing through the North Atlantic. In fact, that model was the reason I saved the issue. When I dig it out, I’ll scan it for you. Just pop me a PM with your email addy and I’ll send it to ya.

Hiya, and [#welcome]

Kevin Kreuger??? I went to high school with a Kevin Kreuger! Ever live in Glendora, Ca?

OK, I found the article you are looking for! It’s in the 1995 FSM “Modeling the Second World War: A 50th Anniversary Tribute.” The plane is actually James Goodson’s P-51B converted from the 1/32 HAsegawa P-51D. If you send me a private message with your email address, I’ll send the scanned pages to you. [tup]

Welcome to the forums Kevin!

I want to work where Daywalker works…and I want his total recall memory…yeah, and his magnifiers too!

Simply unbelieveable

Nam

Hi Roger,

Sorry…wrong Kevin Krueger. I did live in Merced, CA though when I went through B-52 training.

Thanks for the intros to M1 and Jean-Michel. In addition, since Nam posted on this thread, greetings to you also. May your Christmas stockings be filled with plastic!!

Kevin

Yeah…[oops]…forgot to say [#welcome] Kevin

Kevin-

PM received, and reply inbound! [;)]

Thanks Nam! Not sure if you want to work there this time of year, retail at Christmas time= no personal life. [sigh]

Kevin- Email inbound! [;)]

Huh! What’re the odds…

Anyways, glad you made it to the forums! Looking forward to seeing what ya got cooking on the bench!

Frank,

E-mail received…thanks a whole bunch. The article will help even though I’m going to tackle the Revell kit. I figure that if I can make a decent 1/32 scale BF109F from the old 1967 Revell kit (including lengthening the fuselage), the Revell P-51B can’t be any more difficult. At least it starts out looking like a P-51B.

Merry Christmas,

Kevin
