Greetings and Salutations

Howdy ya’ll,

My name is James. I’ve been in the Army for 22 years and counting. As I get closer to the end of my career, I have decided I want to replicate the equipment I’ve worked on during my time in, ultimately placing the pieces on a diorama of sorts, chronologically stacked in a glass curio cabinet. Final design to be determined, but I wanted to get a start on the models themselves. I will post my various questions in other topic threads, but wanted to say hi to everyone, and from what I have read so far, believe myself to be in the company of good people.

Welcome to the Forums James! Glad to have you aboard!

Thank you for your service!

You certainly have come to the right place. The guys and gals on here are very knowledgeable and ready to help out with any questions/problems that you might have. A lot of the members got here the same way you have. I’ve been building models for 69 of my 75 years and I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time and my wallet says OK. The only “armor” I have attempted is a Jeep and a German Opel “Blitz” truck. One of these days I’ll try some tanks. I’m mostly a WWII Aircraft person.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. We’ve all been there at one time. With your background, the members might be coming to you for info and help.

Good luck. Enjoy.

Welcome to the Forums! And thanks for your service.

Welcome [snWcm]

Welcome.

Thank you for your service.

I had the same idea as you, build the models of the vehicles I rode in while serving. So far I’ve built three planes for my uncle, a Vietnam Vet, and getting ready to build a sub for my father who served on subs during Vietnam era. I have purchased the models of my vehicles, so they’re standing by.

You’ve come to the right place for tips, techniques and motivation. Above all else, have fun.

Thanks all for the welcome. I’m on day 2 of my Paladin build, and I’m loving it! Thanks for all the advice so far as well. Looks like I was right when I said I was in the company of good folk.
