Greetings all.

I’m a new member to the website. After seeing the fantastic mag that Fine Scale puts out… how could I NOT join? The pics, tips and techniques on this site are fantastic, and I look forward to spending a lot of time browsing here. Love it so far.

About me… I’m a mid 50’s guy who recently got back into modelling after leaving it when I was in my early teens. Sure is a lot of difference now. Kits are better, techniques are GREAT, and tools/paints are a lot better too. [:D]
I’m married with 2 grown boys who are out on their own. I retired from the USAF in '91 and although I most love WWII era planes, I love anything that flies. I’m a former glider pilot with nearly 2000 hrs in the cockpit (health stopped that one [|(] ).

So far I’ve completed a P-47, done as Hun Hunter XIV, P-51 Shangri La, P-51 Petie 2nd, and a Do-335 A12. All Tamiya kits. Waiting in the wings are two more '51s I’m going to do in Tuskeegee colors and a B-17G that will be “escorted” by the Tuskeegee planes. Got some other kits on the shelf too…

I’m planning a pretty large display that will be one of each aircraft I “guarded” while in the USAF, but that is gonna take a LONG time to get finished. LOL. Gone for me are the days of throwing a kit together in an evening.

Time to get back to the building table now…

Your projects sound great…if you need help posting pics here…just ask. It’s a weird process…but we’d love to see them!

[#welcome] to the forums!!!

Hope to see you around, but I probably won’t, since I hang out in the armor section. Never the less welcome![:)]

[#welcome] to the Forums.

Mike, I live in Cheyenne also. Perhaps we will run into each other at Hobby Lobby since there is no hobby store in town [:(]

Hi Roy. We may already have done so! Hmm… there’s 2 of us so far. Think we could qualify for an IPMS Club? LOL!

Roy you are a magnet! Move back home and draw new members![(-D]

Wow sounds like an ivolved but fantastic project! Hello to you and I’ll be looking for your work! [C):-)]

Funny you should say that, I have looked into the idea of starting a small model club. There seems to be a RC club and I think a ship club. The closest one I know of is in Ft Collins at the Hobbytown store. It wouldn’t be an IPMS group but if there is enough of us perhaps we could all get together. Just an idea.

So Nam, you moving out west[;)]
