Greeting (it's been a long time!)

Always liked models and modeling. Did a lot as a kid up to till the time I received my army draft notification. I built mostly model cars and, of course, the QE II (LOL). In my late teens, I won best of show in the county fair (big wow, right?) and won another contest at the largest slot car track in the SE for building a custom 1/24 scale race car and truck/trailor rig that also had to race. Trophy for “Show and Go”. Later, in Germany, I got into Tamiya military modeling. But I decided it was too much trouble to get transfered every few years and have the army move models.

So, as I’m looking forward to retirement now, thought I’d see if I could steady up my hands some and get my eyes to focus again.

Currently have Tamiya 1/25 scale 370Z to build to look like my real one.

Also, you’re probably looking at (well, not ACTUALLY looking at but…) one of the few people in the world who owns two unassembled Pocher kits. Not sure what I’m going to do about them (yikes).

So, slowly, I’ll be getting me some tools back.

I’ve seen some of the forum posts here and I didn’t see a lot of flaming, chest-thumping, and egos. Looks helpful and friendly.

And bedtime for an old guy from Atlanta.

See ya later !

Welcome!

We don’t thump chests until we know you better! [;)]

Welcome to the Forums [snWcm],. Glad you’re here.

Regards, Rick

LOL

And, just to clarify, please don’t take my reference to winning a few little contests when I was a kid as any kind of bragging. It was intended to explain that as a kid, I didn’t just buy a kit and slap it together in an hour. I was (and am) pretty patient and try to do a good job on things. My wife kids our friends about us cleaning house together about how great a job I do but how LOONGGGG it takes me to do my part… LOL.

[snWcm] to the forums, Slynky!!! Hope to see you around!
