I got this idea in my head after seeing some of my favorite miniature artists put busts in really cool looking picture frames. I wanted to take it one step further. I wanted it to look like Papa Nurgle himself had completely warped the entire picture frame! The whole premise of Nurgle is rot, disease and decay. These are progress shots of the piece I am putting together to enter into the Golden Demon miniature competition in March at Adepticon. I used one of the extra heads from the Great Unclean One model kit, a couple of the included nurglings and half of the bell. The tentacles are some off cut pieces from other Nurgle models. The intestines are my own creation with green stuff. I used a LOT of glazes for the picture frame colors. The majority of the paints I use are Cuttlefish Colors, with some Reaper, GW, and Army Painter colors as well. The rust on the bell is the rust effect from Dirty Down.
All that is left is to detail the little demon guys, apply a gloss to the slimey bits, and then use some Uhu glue to make slime strings on the mouth and tentacles.
