Great photos from Davis-Monthan, well worth a look!

I posted the link under a particular question, but thought I’d repeat it in a more general-interest way.

I ran across this great collection of photos from Davis-Monthan storage facility in the (mostly) 1966-68 period, posted by a gentleman named Neil Aird. Lots of gorgeous color shots of familiar and less-so aircraft to drool over.

The Davis-Monthan section is but part of a larger collection, assembled, as the author says, from a lifetime of plane-spotting. It’s well worth spending some time exploring, something there for nearly every aviation era fan.

Enjoy!

Great pics. Thanks for posting!

Stunning pics there Greg, thanks for sharing those. But it is a shame to see all those aircraft like that knowing that most of them have since been scraped.

Do they have a time limit on how long an aircraft is kept there before it is scraped or sold.

All those poor, beautiful Connies and Beechcraft. :frowning:

Great Pics! Thanks for sharing. How I wish there’s a collection of photos like these of the Kingman, Arizona scrapyard.

When I was there, you could only tour the site by bus. I don’t know if you could walk it if you knew someone?
