I am now in negotiations with a major DISPLAY MODEL MANUFACTURER who wants to make and market the “MI display technique”!!! IP Patent Pending status is on it and soon the venture will be on it’s way!!!
I’ve done real well at containing my excitement… up until this morning when he wrote saying they’d recieved the prototype and his intial impression; “WOW, we’re going all the way with this!!!” It appears to be the real thing for sure! I’ve been doing somersaults and thanking Jesus all morning! [party][wow][tup]

That’s GREAT news Frank! It doesn’t surprise me that someone bit on this idea. It is so simple that many may have thought that it had already been tried, I am glad that you are the one that decided that the worst thing they could say is no. I already have some ideas about potential subjects!
Dirk…this refers to MI “Mirror Image”…a display technique Frank has developed to portray aircraft models in realistic flight. It is a very effective presentation(avoiding the word ‘awesome’, though it is!).
oldhooker has posted his examples around…have a look…you will be amazed at the effect and his ingenuity!
Downside…half of your A/C kit stays in the box.
Upside…You can use the other half to build another display for yourself or friends!

I agree. There is sometimes a tendency in modeling - as in many persuits - to get stuck in following “accepted” or mainstream ways of doing things. Original ideas and unique approaches to modeling benefit everyone, and homegrown ingenuity and talent deserves more recognition than it often gets. Folks who just roll up their sleeves and tackle never-before-attempted projects inject a lot of life into these forums, and really put the “rivet-counters” and gripers in perspective. One bit of advice…ain’t nobody gonna look after your interests as well as you…there’s going to be SOMEONE who will try to shaft you and make money out of this for doing nothing. Make sure you protect yourself.
