Great Guide to Figure Painting, Esp. Face

http://www.btinternet.com/~model.soldiers/page38.html

I’d agree, a very good instructional piece for painting faces. But, since I do paint portraits on the side, the eyeball detail is still a bit off - too centrally located . The upper eyelid should just touch or pass above the pupil. Also, the iris should slightly be covered by the lower lid. Just my opinion since you really can’t see this on something 1/35 scale or less.

Hey jgratic, do you have a link to any pics you’ve done? I’m always interested to see anyone else’s work. I love a well done portrait. Check out the few that I’ve done on my page. My favorite is the Surabachi pic, but I have a few good portraits done as well.

Hi maddafinga - i do have webpage listed in my profile for my artwork: www.geocities.com/jgeratic
I tried looking at yours, but I get page not found error.

Hmm, must be a problem with cox servers, both my member pages are down. I know they were up the other day, as I copied the link from it. When I see that it’s back up, I’ll mail the link to you again. Maybe I should call cox?

Some very good work in there by the way. I love seeing other people’s stuff. Do you prefer the paint, or the pencil?

Ok, got in touch with cox and got it back online. The problem was that I moved this last weekend and they didnt transfer my webpage or email to my new address for some reason. Got it rectified now though. http://members.cox.net/maddafinga/artwork_of_josh_allen.htm

jgeratic, Madda,

I have seen your sites and found your artworks very good. I have been into painting and drawings since I was small and I have a passion for artworks such as yours. I never really made money out of it professionally except for some occasions when I won some painting contests some years back. I do charcoal, pencil, watercolor and oil, too. I am also currently scanning my pevious works for posting in my site.

You are great artists and I enjoyed your works.

Hi maddafinga, was able to check out your work. Cool stuff, your style certainly calls for a sure hand, I especially love the Einstein - awesome job there! Regarding your question, can’t say which medium I prefer as both have their challenges. Mind you pencil is quicker so if I’m pressed for time I’d choose that one. Thanks to both of you for checking out my site - Dwight let me know (email or somehow) when your artwork is ready to be showed.

Thanks for the compliments! Ironically, pencil for me takes a good deal longer than painting does. I tend to obsess over a pencil drawing, where I just sort of lay paint on down. Dwight, I can’t wait to see your stuff man. I love checking other people’s work out. Blackwolfscd has some good artwork posted around here somewhere as well, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Some impressive work you both have!

I really like the Wittmann & Tank [:p]
