I just wanted to pass along some great customer service I got from Revell.
I received a 1/96 Constitution for Christmas and as I gradually checked out all the great (and MANY) parts, I realized that the figure sprue was missing.
I almost just let it go without trying because I’m not real good with figures anyway. But the more I thought, the more I figured I would give their customer service a try. I’ve heard mixed comments on their service so it couldn’t hurt.
I contacted Revell on 6/16 and received the sprue today.
I’m very satisfied - now all I have to do is build the model!
I’m sorry but I have always had the opposite experience. Terrible service. Called about a decal sheet and, not mentioning any names, was asked to mail the kit in, pay a $10.00 replacement fee, and THEN they’d decide if I needed a replacement…which would be if and ONLY IF THEY decided it was a manufacturers defect. I told her in a nutshell that that was extortion…$10 for a decal sheet…and only at their discretion plus the cost of mailing the kit to them AND paying to have it mailed back to me? She called me a few choice names and got a little too personal. Never again will I buy a Revell or Monogram product. Revell Germany, on the other hand, are great. No complaints there.
Based my experiences over the last few years I consider the service Revell of Germany, Eduard models and White Ensign models provide excellent. You are answered promptly and faulty or missing parts are replaced with no hassle at all. Eduard even helped me out when I made a mess of some PE on my Tirpitz build.
Yes, I tried that, too. Once the aforementioned A.P. saw my name, I got a very pleasant phone call, or, rather, I should say “good old country cussin,” from her and it was made VERY clear to me that I am no longer able to request service from Revell USA. Guess customer appreciation is not one of thier strong points…oh well. Such is life.
