Grand Opening! New Aircraft Factory! Lots of Pics.

Hello and welcome to my new Aircraft Factory! I have a couple of new aircraft being built now as we speak. I started out with a light load, only building two planes from WWII

The first plane I started was my 1/72 scale Messerschmitt Me 262A Schwalbe. I apologize for the poor quality of the pics. [B)] The plastic is an almost white looking green that does not photograph well! [xx(]

Here is the progress I made on the wing assembly:

Then I started to pre-assemble some things on the fuselage, and found one critical problem:

Yes, one of the horizontal stabilizers is missing. I won’t be able to finish this kit until it is found, so this one is going into the holdng bin.

I also got started on my P-39 Aircobra in 1/72 scale. I know it didn’t seem to perform well, but I think it is one of the sexier, better looking planes of WWII! [;)]

This lumpy blob of plastic is my Pilot glued to his chair!

I think once I get a little paint on him, he’ll look a little more like he should.

Meanwhile, I test-fit the two fuselage halves together to see how the exposed engine would look:

After that, I assembled the wings:

Next I’ll be painting the pilot, mounting the landing gear on the wing assembly, and then finishing the fuselage.

Thanks for tgouring my new facility; I hope you enjoyed yourselves!
Watch for the next Tour when I get more done, and don;t forget to pic up your burgers at the Grill on your way out. [;)]

By the way the factory tour was great!!! Keep it up, Duke!!!

Hmm, I wonder by the number of planes beeing assembled at the line, I’m pretty sure the employees are under a lot of workpressure. And I bet you that they’re underpaid and have poor or no extra-legal benefits.
I would call for a STRIKE !!!

Serious, well done.
My advice when taking pics of a light colored subject ; use a tripod and disable the flash, you’ll see that the resulting pic will have way more depth. [:D]

Thanks for the tour and I will have my burger to go.

Thad

im re-reading this post and ive just had half a bowl of ramen noodles, and gosh darn it i want another ! all this talk of burgers ! its all your fault mark! you started it ! and oh yes, dan is right, no flash = more dept, if you want to play with things, you can also diffuse the flash or partially obstruct it. diffuse it by holding a piece of white paper and play with directing the flash. its fun ! now im off for more noodles !

Thanks for the great comments guys!

Actually, my workers have great benefits, since they get to eat all the leftover burgers, (I always cook triple what I need!) and they only work when I’m there (about three or four days a week for 3-5 hours a day. Who could ask for better? [:o)]

As for the flash, thanks for the tips guys. The flash actually was off. I think it was because the overhead flourescent light I was using for lighting just got a bit too close. [B)] I just have to watch it. Thanks again everyone. I’ll have more posted later.

Oooo!! four more posts to 1000! [^]
