Goose is getting close

With some luck I’ll be painting this weekend.

Have been working on the three blade prop conversion and the difficult two piece, split down the middle canopy tonight.

Looking good Swanny, have at it. Want to see the finished product[:D]

Can’t wait to see your goose all finished and trimmed out.

Coming along very nicely, looking forward to the finished pics. I have been dry fitting mine prior to starting build and that pesky two piece canopy has me a little concened. I’ll be real interested in how you handle it.

awesome swanny.

Just finished intalling it. Took three abortive attemps before I figured it out. Here’s what I did.

  1. With diamond file open side panels of fuselage just a little until clear piece fits in the opening.

  2. Starting with pilot’s side, bevel bottom of front to meet the front fuselage and bevel front inside corner of clear piece. Mask the panes before fitting.

  3. Install that piece making sure that the front point is right on the center seam of the fuselage using Testors Clear parts cement. Wipe the inside of the clear part with a tack cloth to remove fingerprints before gluing.

  4. Once that had dried fit second piece beveling same areas.

  5. Once fit is good line all but the top half of the center section with Clear Parts Cement. The short span in the center above the front window gets a fine bead of superglue. (be sure to Future before you start this fitting process)

  6. Fit the piece and hold in position for about five minutes.

  7. After glue has dried carefully trim center seam with razor and sand with fine paper.

Whew, what a job that was but looks pretty good. Next I get to string the float guy wires.

Very nice looking good.

Its taking shape nicely, Swanny. Did you glue the horizontal tail braces? Those can be a real bugger sometimes, but they don’t look like they’re too wide in chord. The panel lines look like they’ll take a wash nicely. I like your decal choice, also. Looking forward to the next installment !

Evening Pix. Yeah those braces are glued but I did sand them down and shortened them just a smidgeon. I agree, it looks like it will take a wash very nicely.

Nice looking build so far,Swanny. The markings you’ve selected are going to look great on that bird. Can’t wait to see the next installment.

Still looking great! Keep up the good work!

I love the decals, definately makes for an amazing bird!!!

The ole’ Goose is looking good, Swanny!

Thanks for the advice Swanny. Iv’e been following your build review on your website and it will certainly help me when I start mine. Looking forward to seeing the finished Goose on the serving platter.

She looks like she’ll be a nice showpiece of something unusual.
