GOOD Flanker?

I always wanted a flanker in my collection, love the look of the cockpit blending into the fuselage, and how the cockpit is so much higher. also a huge plane. Anyone have any good suggestions?

The choices are as follow:

1/72 hasegawa
1/72 Monogram
1/48 Academy
1/48 Zengdefu

I know the Zengdefu is crap, but it’s only $15 compared to about 50.

please help soon thanks[:)][:)][:)]

If you go back a couple of weeks you will find that this very subject was raised & discussed. The basic result was; in 1/72nd, go for the Airfix. It’snot perfect, but then none of them are. I’ve just built two Airfix & one Italeri flankers in 1/72nd. there are large differences around the nose & cockpit, for instance. In the previous thread, there is a link to a Flanker model comparison site.

Well played Darren, you’re a star!
1337, get the filler eady, you’ll need it!
In case anyone is interested, there is a 1/32nd Flanker coming soon from Trumpeter.
Given the mistakes they’ve made on their other kits, I wonder what they’ll do to this one, and at that price, around $100, it should be nigh perfect!

I always liked the Hasegawa 1/72 kit. Metal landing gear, photoetch, really nice kit.

the trump one runs 150 and 109 preorder, from gm

1337, I’ve built Hasegawa’s, Airfix’s and Italeri’s Flankers. If you’re short of cash go with the Airfix kit, otherwise choose Hasegawa which has recently been re-boxed by Revell Germany. It’s a tad wide between the tail fins but it’s a much nicer build than Airfix. The upper wings and fuselage half are moulded together as one piece saving a lot of work on wing/fuselage joins.

I had the Zvezda 1/72 SU-35 kit a few years back.

Generally it was accurate to any dimensional info I could find about it.

The downside is that it takes a ton of work to get to any level of presentability, raised and inconsistent panel lines and coated in mold release.

But it is cheap and worth the work if you and your skills are up for it.

More like $149.00 is what I’ve seen on some websites, but if the kit is as well done as their last few releases it should be a nice kit. I’ll be getting one or two ??
