NSCLCCTL says goodbye for a while. He has gone to the dark side. Swallowed up by the pit. In total love with armor. Weathering is mud blood and more dirt. So much easier than aircraft. I love the detail of a tank and truck. Until Tamiya or accurate release a good B17 in 1:48, I ain’t comin back. That is what is missing from my collection and I am striking until it is released. A good one, not the warped offerings that are currently out there. I do not know how such an important factor in WWII could be so overlooked for so long. Bye, let me weather this track. Oh, the shade ain’t right, who cares, its dirty!!!
I don’t think I’ll be joining you as permantently as you make it sound, but as a change of pace, Eduard is sending me their 1/16 scale Schwimmwagen, which will be only the second AFV I’ve ever built, the other being a bottom-of-the-line Tamiya Stewart tank, which gave me valuable experience at sun bleaching OD and some other technices, though I never got painting treads down right. What I really want to do, now that I have a new kit of it and a bunch of PE parts for it, is to do another Flying Tank, i.e. a Sturmovik. That AcMIn kit is always a pure pleasure to build, and this time I’m going all out on it (if I ever get caught up with my obligations).

Watch out for the A10/Typhoon/IL2/Stuka/ all those helicopters, 'cause you are now officially classed as a TARGET!.
Anyway, all you yanks LOVE monogram to death, are you now saying that their precious B17 is NO GOOD - God forgive , whatever next.
Seriously though, I am surprised that Trumpeter released a Sparviero and totally ignored the B17.
I thought that one was supposed to be on its way, or was this shades of wishful thinking on the forum’s behalf, a la 1/35th Chinook.
And if you depart forever, how will you know if one was to be released, would it be from the cries of the tank crews ‘oh no , not more bombers’ .
I too built some tanks once, then ran quickly back and built some lovely Phantoms very soon after.
See you next week!
Goodbye is just too final
Call it a vacation, or a sabatical to study targets, ehh…tanks.
Before you know it, your head will be swimming in the clouds again
besides, I got a bunch of halftracks to build
Why say goodbye? Just go back and forth! I find it great therapy for acute cases of advanced modeler’s syndrome (AMS). Heck, I recently even built a snaptite car kit just to get over the hurdle of lost modeling interest. It worked…[^]
Yep, those that can’t build aircraft go to the dark side. [:)] Good luck with your tanks.
Regards, Rick
Well you know what they say: Tanks are for people who don’t know how to build airplanes. LOL!
Eric
the more go the merrier… I love a target rich enviroment
Thank god they’re all too busy with Tigers and Panthers and Shermans too even think about modeling a ZSU-23 or Patriot Missle System. I may just build an A-10 next and dedicate it too NSCLCCTL ![]()
That was all just friendly ribbing. Build whay you like and like what you build.
