Gone in 60sec GT500 (Eleanor)

hey guys need help here…i know in the movie it was a “1967” Shelby GT500 nicolas cage used…i was looking for a car kit and could only find a 1968 AMT/Ertl kit 1/25 scale…what are the differences between the two? thanks!

You’d be fine with a '68 for an Eleanor-build as there really wasn’t very much differences between the two.

The fake scoops on the rear quarter panel had two intakes on the '67 but only one on '68

The dashboard is very much the same on the two also.

'67

'68

Don’t think there was very much that differed in the engine room either but I don’t know for sure so don’t take that for granted.

I think you’d be better off with AMT 67 GT-350 kit. The GT-350 and the GT-500 had the same body parts, the extended front and the integral spoiler rear, which would save a lot of custom bodywork. You’ll have enough to do replicating the Eleanor mods. Plus the chassis and interior are much better detailed. You would need to replace the small-block with a 427/428 engine, though.

great build! is this the amt 67 gt350?

thanks for the advice from all! i think i’ll take your suggestion and do the amt 67 kit and do a mod. should i use the 68 GT500 engine for the conversion? what else can i add from the 68 gt500 to the 350 to make it an “eleanor”?

much help appreciated guys!

oh and btw, what rims were used on eleanor?

how about the hood? the GT500 seems to have a bump compared top the 350…
