GMC 2.5 Ton CCKW Information Needed

I am building a Heller GMC CCKW 353 kit. On the bottom of the vehicle is a U-shaped torsion/stabilizer ? bar running between the two rear leaf springs. Does the bar hang straight down or is it angled slightly forward or aft from the vertical?
Your assistance would be appreciated.
