Hello,
What are the glues of choice for the modeling pros out there?

I don’t know about what the ‘pros’ use but I use Testors liquid cement that’s in a kind of triangular bottle. When apiece won’t glue or I run out of patients I use super glue. Sometimes even the tube stuff.

I use regular Testor’s glue in the tube and Ambroid liquid glue in a bottle. If I am using p/e or resin parts, I will use a slow setting super glue.

Like the other poster, I also use the Testors liquid cement in the funny shaped bottle thing. Thats what I use for my general gluing of like small parts. I also use Tenax7. for bigger things that have long seams to join. Those are the two main ones I use all the time.

Another glue that is often neglected is epoxy. It’s usually a 2 part mix. It takes some time to cure (at least 5 minutes, or longer depending on the type). But it gives a really strong bond that stays strong over the years.
CA glue such as Zap is a super glue that cures very very quickly. It’s great for attaching small parts. Wear eye protection when you use it and keep a bottle of debonder handy. The makers of Zap make a debonder. Sometimes a CA glue bond will get brittle over time.

I use Tesors liquid not the funny looking botle type, ambroid, tenax7, various sorts of ca from gel to extr thin, elmers glue, and even Future floor polish at times. Just depends on what Im doing at the time and what glue is closest.

i use the same testors glue.it works very well.i also use the testors orange tube glue once in a while.

I use Tamiya liquid cement for most things, and CA (superglue) for particularly small or fiddly parts. If I have parts that I can hold together along a seam, I position the parts and then apply Tenax 7R plastic welder. Tenax is terrific stuff - very thin, flows right into seam, can be applied from a brush, fast drying.
