What do you use for your gloss coats on models? i am talking about models that require the finish to be glossy
I use future for when i need to apply decals and have used enamel gloss coat from duplicolor

I have used dupli-color automotive finish gloss coat, testors gloss clear, and a few nameless brands of clear, but so far i have found one of the best to be future, because yoou dont have to thin it, its cheap, works very well, and has very nice leveling properties, so it dries a flat sirface.

I too use Future on any models I need to leave glossy. The nice thing is it is polishable with a soft cloth so it keeps it’s shine.
[#ditto] I’m with them. Future is a godsend, and it works out a lot cheaper than buying those gloss clear coats from model paint manufacturers.

since Future refuses to flex at all (it would rather crack & flake) once cured, I don’t like it on large parts. I only use Future for glossing over something like an instrument panel or for doing clear parts repairs.
I avoid gloss coating as much as possible though. Enamel clear gloss yellows/browns over time. Lacquer can destroy everything underneath it. Acrylic behaves a lot like Future. Metalizer Sealer just isn’t useful for anything. But, you’ve gotta do something when you paint a car body with silver paint that just does not shine. I’m currently using Tamiya synthetic lacquer as the gloss coat for that purpose. The paint under it is also synthetic lacquer, and that’s the only reason I’m doing it.
Thanks for all the replys, i mostly have problems with putting clear over decals and when using future it looks bumpy but not orange peel
