I have noticed people say to use a gloss black primer on a lot of aircraft. Why is that? In the past, I had always used just a standard grey. Just wondering if it makes a difference.
It might be because they are using alclad lacquers. Usually a normal grey or white primer will do the job fine for normal paints. For natural metal aircraft, alot of people use alclad lacquers, and they need a gloss black primer to look best.
Only use the gloss black if you are doing a NMF finish, especially if using Alclad2.
