I’ve had a few Glencoe kits before - very basic and most lack any interior details at all.
Mandrake: Glencoe Meconisa are Glencoe kits manufactured in Mexico. It’s the same kit as the Glencoe kit which came from the Ringo kit which came from the ITC kit. The kit has been around since the late 50’s. I’ve seen some really nice builds of the kit but it;s going to take some work.
The model is the Glenco kit, but BOXED in Mexico, possibly with decals for the mexican navy version. The model itself needs a lot of work, lacks of interior detail and the rivets are too big for the scale (tipical of the 50’s) the decals should be good.

mandrake, the only thing out there in production (or available) seems to be the 1/72 Airfix kit. Some of airfix’s kits also lack detailed and have raised panel lines etc… but usually it’s not hard to make a decent looking model out of one… there’s a few on ebay right now, and www.greatmodels.com has them too… along with decals and vacuformed canopies for it…
Thanks Tom, i am gonna get me a J2F-6 Duck and see how it goes. Thanks fellas!

mandrake,
I did the Airfix Duck and it is a nice looking model hanging form the cieling of my display area. It had no serious problems with fit etc. I probably did it in about 10 hours. I personally like Airfix, I think that their quality is okay not in the league with AM, but okay all the same. Bruce
Dear Hector:
Necomisa means “Negociadora de Comercio Internacional, S.A.” (International Commerce Bussines Inc., I think) Is a mexican company like Lodela, wich buy molds to produce in Mexico, almost always with Mexican airliners, Mexican Air Force or Navy decals. Lodela was buy first Revell molds, then Airfix molds, but by now Lodela was out of models bussines; Necomisa may be do the same thing.
Maybe almost all Mexican modelers from 70’s, 80’s and 90’s like me, starting with inexpensives Lodela and Necomisa models.
Best regards
Manuel
Muchas gracias
Saludos!
BTW Thanks a lot Bruce i am expecting to have some fitting problems but i will do my best and we will see how it goes.
Thanks a lot
Regards Fellas!

The old Glencoe kit is closer to 1/50 scale than 1/48. Classic Airframes released a limited run 1/48 J2F kit a while back, but it should still be findable. It’s not an easy build, but far more detailed.
