Give Credit To Eduard & Accurate for Setting Standards

You know I’ve been modeling since the 50s and I’ve seen this hobby come a long way… The days of Hawk and Aurora thru to the great kits of Hasagawa and Dragon… But I have to say the following… No I’m not employed by nor do I have stock in Eduard… But their kits are amazing… I have purchased several of their kits and most recently their excellent 1/72 SPAD Xlll… The box art is the only weak point. I can’t find crisper “Flash Free” molding better laid out planning and an overall appreciation of the modellers needs… They include items such as masks and in their “Profi Paks” excellent PE parts that are sometimes not needed because their injected parts are excellent. Its as though a modeller designed the model… For their efforts and bringing our hobby into th 21st century by making fine kits of needed subject matters and keeping the prices within logic… I want to say thank you Eduard… Keep leading the way. It’s the companies like yours and Accurate Miniatures and as well as some others, that keep this hobby interesting …and affordable.

Well, I haven’t made any Accurate Miniatures kits but have recently bought some Eduard WWI kits and I am very IMPRESSED! Kudos to them!

Eduard is certainly the leader in WWI aircraft kits in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales. Their latest releases of WWII aircraft are very good also, but not quite at the head of the pack. But they do seem to get better with each new release and eventually they may be the yardstick to measure by. Accurate Miniatures set new standards for interior detail for Out Of The Box kits, but some of their kits aren’t that well engineered and they are very slow in getting new releases into the market after they tout them as coming soon. It’s a matter of personal preference, but I still think Tamiya is the leader, at least for 1/48 scale, non WWI aircraft kits. But Companies like Eduard and Trumpeter are definitely closing the gap.

I build only 1/48 WW II aircraft, and I must say that I prefer Eduard & Accurate Miniatures to Tamiya. The tiny injection molded pieces on Eduard’s P-39Q Profi-pack are incredible. Had Tamiya molded the kit, these pieces would have been molded into the places that they are to be glued. Sure, Eduard & AM kits will require a little more work, but I get bored very easily by kits that do all the work for you. And they don’t have the high-ticket prices of Tamiya (which I feel is over rated). Just my [2c]

I’ve only used their PE sets so far, and I am always impressed with every set I get!!! The detail is outragous.

Like kik36 I have only used their PE so far, but the pre-painted seat harnesses are stunning, and make a huge difference to any cockpit, especially at that price.
