This is my 1/72 new tool Airfix A-4b. Sofar no major hassles with the kit, just a bit of filler needed on the bottom of the wing joints.
I cut off the flaps and thinned them out as I wanted to do a “split flaps down” pose.
I also managed to break off one of the tiny slat rails. Will have to glue it back no.
Add a little weight to the nose or it will be a tailsitter.(lead shot and wood glue)
Not sure if you can see it in the pix, I modified the stabs to sit at a leading edge down position as if trimmed nose up for the cat shot or even landing
It will be in USN scemee.

Bish, if “Mrs. Claus” got the many hints and memos I left lying around, looks like it’ll be a Wingnut Wings D.VII for me (but I don’t want to jinx anything yet as it’s still about 2-3 hrs before I actually find out). If so, I’ll be entering that puppy for sure. Should be back with confirmation of some sort or another fairly soon.
Theuns, looking good. Been woundering about these new tooled Airfix kits. I have been in two minds about the MiG 15.
Mike, will keep my fingures crossed. I have never done a WW1 plane myself, so the 0/400 i got for my birthday will make a nice change. I hear a lot of good things about these Wingnut Wings kits.
I have not seen the Mig yet, but this little scooter is just sonice, the only thing I do not like about it is that I have managed to break off 2 (and loose 1) of the slat rails! They are very fiddly.
Hopefully I have completed the sanding and can work more carefully now.
I am just trying to find the best “load” for this plane so I can put the hardpoints on.

OK Bish, it’s official. You can put me down for a WnW Fokker D.VII (alb). It’s a gorgeous kit, and Mrs. Claus even threw in some neat AM stuff, like PE turnbuckles, seat harnesses, and turned brass Spandau barrels & cooling jackets. Definitely looking forward to this GB, and being off from work until the 2nd, should have plenty of time to make some serious progress on 'er.
Nice one Mike. And istn’t it great when Santa even thinks to include the AM, how clever. I think i need to train my Mrs Claus some more, but she’s getting there.
Wow, i actually got a model for xmas, bought by swimbo no less. Please put me down for an airfix 1/600 belfast. Why she thought id want a ship i dont know, ive never built one before. Should be fun.
It might be a while before i start as i need to do researh buy bits etc, snd finish what i am doing.
I got the 1/600th Airfix HMS Victorious for my birthday. I do have a couple of ship kits but my other half has not seen them as i haven’t worked on any for years. Woman, who knows what goes on in their heads lol.
I have that Airfix Belfast kit in the stash. I think its partly built but it must have been 15 years or more since i worked on it. I saw your post about the White Ensign PE. I was thinking about getting the set for the Victorious kit. I reckon they have to be worth getting as anything to improve it can’t hurt.
The Betty is, well, brown already; no painting necessary.
No instructions either, but some did come with the tea.

Been checking out reviews for the 0/400 you plan on doing. I’ll be watching that one with a serious amount of interest - looks like a great kit, and with a parts count of about 160, packed with detail. Looks like it’s got its fair share of rigging too.
I’m going to throw my hat into the ring with my Christmas present - the Gunpla Starter Set Vol. 2. Basically it’s the 30th Anniversary 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam, which has a really nice amount of detail compared to the previous High Grade version. Now I just have to figure out what to do with it…
badlanguage, glad to have you on board. I am not all that familiar with this genre of modelling, so great to see it. I just had to goggle it to see what it was. Looks like a nice kit.
Mike, i think i might need it. I don’t think my other half realised quite what was involved with the rigging on this kit. But i love a challenge. I am thinking about useing E-Z line. never used it before, i normally use fishing line for aircraft antenna’s. But heard some good things about E-Z line.
CMK, i might need a copy of those Tea instructions. I can never make a decent cup for anyone.
Bish - I’ve used E-Z line and find it much easier to use than fishing line, stretched sprue or invisible thread.
I didn’t receive any plastic, but I have my brand new Iwata HP- B Plus airbrush. I have a 1/72 109 on the go that I am going to use it for, but I’ll start a new kit for this GB, as the 109 already has it’s base RLM 76 on, it’s too far gone to add to another GB.
Just because it’s a while since I built a car, I might do a Hasegawa 1/24 Jaguar XJR-9LM, like this one.
Is there any interest in this, or would you prefer I build an aircraft for this GB ?

The M270 MLRS is courtesy of Bullet21 (aka Dennis) for the Secret Santa GB - oddly, there were no instructions included in the kit! [:^)] [:O] [:(] Fortunately, I found some online (Hobby Search).
The `77 GMC w/snow plow is compliments of Household-6 (aka my domestic goddess!), as is the book THE HARD RIDE: VIETNAM GUN TRUCKS (part2) by James Lyles.

[C] Instructions came on the inside seal of the tea tins (which is more than you get with some PE sets I have).
The tea is Twining’s: “Gunpowder Green” and “Prince of Wales.” Basically, it goes: 1 teaspoon per cup, plus 1 “for the pot.” I think Mrs. Bridges made it that way, years ago on “Upstairs, Downstairs.”
Hope this helps you scratchbuild a decent cuppa. It’s probably more an “art” than a “science.”

Tony, no, please do build the car. Even though i only do military subjects, i love to see other genres. And its not often you get a GB where a wide variety can be built. Looking forward to seeing that.

Bish, I’ll be happy to help any way I can. The EZ line is great stuff to work with for rigging. One of the guys here on the forum once informed me that it can actually be split to an even smaller diameter. I tried it and it worked like a charm. Just split the end and pull it apart. This will help scale it down to 1/72. CA glues it in easily.
Nice tip Mike, thanks. I understand it stretches easily as well. I was thinking of useing it for my aircraft aerials as well, as the fishing line can sag a bit.
