[banghead] Hello,
I have got a model of Tom Daniel’s “Beer Wagon” that I want to make for my dad. What is the best way to get rid of the silver/chrome that came on the kits parts?
Thanks,
Flippersdad
I put them in a bowl of bleach, don’t take long and the chrome is gone without damage to paint. Cheap and readily available.
I use stuff called “Mr Muscle” oven cleaner, Put the chrome parts in a plastic bag, squirt in some oven cleaner on top and leave for 20 mins. then wash em off and bingo.

Castrol Super Clean, which also acts as a very good paint stripper. It’s in a purple bottle in the automotive section ( I think) at good ol’ wally world.
Thanks for the help guys. I will post photos when it is done.
A beer wagon for your dad? Are you trying to tell him something? LOL!!!
[:D] The bleach works great guys! It takes awhile, but it does a complete job. Also I am part German and beer is good for your health - Prosit! I am making the Wagon for my dad cause when I was a kid I decided to build his Beer Wagon model and did a good job for a kid, but it was not as good as it could have been.
Remember "Life is too short to drink cheap beer.
Cheers,
Eric
Windex! Works like a charm and not as dangerous as the other options. It also is soluble in water.
