Help!!
A client gave me 15 painted resin German WWll 120mm figures to “salvage” (mainly Verlinden). The existing painting and building is simply awful - they even have US grenades and pistol holsters glued all over them!![:0]
I need to dis-assemble them and strip them before I can repaint them.
Is there an online reference I can access that will explain colors and types of uniforms so I can get this job right?

Check out, At the Front. They sell uniforms and equipment to re-enactors and colectors. Oftentimes using period fabrics.

Those sites were a real help. Between those sites and the articles in FSM about painting figures, I should be able to muddle through.
Those 15 figures are mostly Verlinden and have been constructed and painted very poorly and they look just terrible.
Even though I’ve never painted a large scale figure before (bigger than 1/48), I’m sure they can’t look worse than they already do!

That’s a helk of a job if you figure each one of those 120mm bad boys runs from $20-30 each new. Worth any amount of work you put into it. It also is a great opportunity to practice any conversion techniques. Good luck with this project.

I mainly work with the 120mm Verlinden Fiqures and I am willing to pass on any information that I can to help you, including what colours I have used to paint them. I have a large collection of reference material that I can sort through to provide you some of the required information. Just let me know what you want and Ill try to supply it for you.

What info can I give you? I’m not sure about which branch of German armed forces they are - but one of the figures is a soldier feeding an apple to a horse - the figure has a peaked cap (sorta-kinda like a baseball cap) with the Death’s Head logo on it.
There’s probably 3 or 4 that I can positively identify as Verlinden, the others may be no longer in production by Verlinden.
There’s several that appear to be SS officers (one with an eyepatch), some guys that are Waffen SS (their camo battle smocks look like some in the website). There are some that I think are wounded soldiers, both sitting.
Can’t tell what’s what.

I have the fiqure with the horse in my collection. It is a Verlinden Kit of a member of the Florian Geyer SS Cavalry man.
The fiqure with the eye patch could be Verlinden’s German SS Stug Crewman. again I have one in my collection.
