Here’s my railroad diorama featuring a rare German locomotive, a Panzertriebwagen. I chose to weather it up as a late war survivor and shone here ready for deployment. I’m still adding some additional figures but I’ll take my time to pick the right ones.

I started this project some months back with a Morser-Karl as my center piece but I built up the locomotive and used it because of its rarity. I love working in armor and railroads so this combines the two and was a real pleasure to build. Everything on the board is built up right down to the home made rails and ties, even the search light was put together with spare parts. I hope people enjoy it and comments are surely welcome.

Thank you both, I tried to make every individual part stand on its own. I’m hoping it inspires more people to build railway kits, they are a lot of fun and make for a nice display. Thanks again.

Nice job Terry. now you gpt me thinking railroads again. still at my “hit the wall” point om K-5. just have to fight through it and not ready too. i expect it will go smoother after that. on a positive note my oil pin washing is getting better as is color modulation and filters so when i am ready to weather the gun i will do a better job.

maybe you and i can do another GB startying in July. I have the OTS (1/72) GB with ModelCrazy going until the end of the year and i always have DORA in the stash.

I was just talking with Bish and with all these GB’s going theres no armor so, we were thinking about some half tracks early this summer. I wish the Steel Cats were still around, we seen some really good vehicles there.

You may or may nor know that when I started this project I built a Trumpeter Morser-Karl in 1/35 as my main piece. So after I looked at it I realized a lot of people build Morsers so I wanted something different as my my centerpiece, so I had my eye on this Panzertriebwagen and I knew right away I had found it. The Morser’s nice but this is different, I think only very few made and showing it for a 1946 build I roughed it up a bit. A lot of locomotives never made even it to 1945!

This is magnificant! I’m extremely impressed! It look real right down to the railroad ties. The terrain and colors look so natural. I’m building my first diorama and have just begun to look through the forum. How did you get the wood to look so natural?
