I have recently taken up model building again, but I am new to armour - I used to build 1/43 resin car kits.
I have got the hang of airbrushing camo using masks (thanks to tips from this Forum), but I want to build a Tiger I in winter camo (Russia early 1944). The best I can come up with is to airbrush using Tamiya dark yellow, then add a top coat of “dirty” flat white before weathering.
I understand that the white was added in the field using water soluble paints or whitewash? What would be the best way to simulate the white paint coming off to show the yellow underneath, due to weather and abrasion?
