Does anyone make aftermarket german WWII flags, like for placing on the vehicles for ‘air recognition’? I have seen an article or 2 on how to make them from scratch, but I was wondering if anyone makes them.
Archer Fine Transfers makes the ones that I use. They are available from most online stores and I’m sure your LHS can also special order them for you (that’s how I got my last two sets). Their part number is AR35008.

Why buy them when you can get them for free? Use Google’s image search to find the flag, i.e. type in “swasktika”, then look down the page until you find the one you want. (trust me this works, I’ve done it.) capture and save the image, open it in any photo program or Paint, scale it to the size you want and print. Cut it out, soak in white glue/water mix and apply.
I would have mentioned making them, but he stated that he had seen those techniques and wanted manufactured flags. I too would rather save the money (depending on the application).

I’d Prefer making them in the fashion Peridexion explained. It is quite easy to do but requires a tad bit of practice. Anybody can go buy something at the store, slap it on your model and say “I bought that”. A modeler crafts using materials at hand, learns from his/her boo-boos and says " I MADE that". Its soooo much more satisfactory.

Oops…I don’t currently own a digital camera…yet. I sank all my money into a decent 35mm and lenses and I’ll be dipped if I’m going to 86 it just to go digital! The only photo I have of my flag is on a Panzer III J and the photo is from the side, you can just barely see the flag.
No harm no foul Peridexion. how come the ink from the printer doesn’t bleed when dipped in the glue/water? Sorry for the stupid tech questions.
OK, this is what I get when I try to simplify things, my foot in my mouth! [:I] The flag I made I actually glued to a piece of lead foil and drapped it over the storage bin, I didn’t actually use the water/glue thing, I just thought that way would be easier to do, since not everybody has lead foil. I forgot about the ink running. [D)]
