german camo??

ok guys i need your input on how you go about painting that darn german camo for german stuka from WW 2. any special ways that you do it? why couldnt the darn gremans just camo a aircraft the easy way. [:D][:D] thanks rob

Depends on the scheme you want, but most were in RLM 70/71/65. I paint the undersides first in RLM 65, then mask & paint the upper surface over all RLM 71. Then comes the tedious part of masking the splinter pattern. A good reference is essential & for the masking I use Tamiya tape. Once the Splinter pattern is masked, I spray the RLM 70.

Hmm, for me Do-17 I did it backwards. I sprayed the underside lichtblau or hellblau or whatever it was, and then I freehanded the RLM 70 areas into place roughly, masked the splinter camo over the sprayed areas and then sprayed RLM 71.

Tanky, either way will work, but it’s usually better to spray darker over lighter.
