Don’t get me wrong, I was not claiming that you were expecting anyone, but you were implying it. Simply put, if someone asks a question or whatever, and I have an opinion, I’ll post that, my opinion, as I do not feel it warranted usually to go to any length to explain. If, after that, the individual requests more information, then at that point I, and any other member I’m sure, would be only too happy to elaborate. But in any case, I do understand where you’re comming from, and when you’re looking for advice, you’re right, a “this rocks” usually does little in the way of explaining pros and cons of any one particular item [:)]
I think Foster nailed it. If you’re looking for some deep answer on the intial post , you need to ask a specific detailed question.
Otherwise a follow up to someones response will get you the info in detail you desire.
For example, In my opinion Bindex would be the best applicator for mud, snow and even PE. I’ve discussed it countless times in the past and many here might be tired of hearing about it. If I post Bindex in a response and you don’t know what it is, I’ll be glad to go into detail about it when asked. I’ll add pics and links as well, but not for a general question. The general question is meant to get opinions to weed out processes.
I also will give opinions about what works for me and I’ll try to explain what the material is besides brand names. Whether it’s available in you home country is really not a concern. I don’t mean that to sound harsh, but I deal with what I have, I can’t alter my opinion to include what’s readily available worldwide.
Alot of members here can’t get Tamiya acylics where they live. That’s not going to stop me from mentioning or using them.
Hi…nope…I even said I did not expect anyone…who needs a Will Shakespear here…not me…we agree there for sure…
To shorten my question …a bit like this,
Snow ??Whats Best??
I used baking soda and white glue…I have tried Swwet’n’lOw…but I now use Snow-Coat as it has a fine grain and is easy to use as well…It rocks .
Thats what I am saying,it tells me everything I need to know and is very short…
Wow, this one took off! It’s probably my fault for taking the original comment wrong. I just don’t think any one of us should tell another what to or not to post. I obviously misunderstood—A thousand apologies–must be old age.
It’s all good food for thought guys! It’s fair to say that all too often we assume the other party clearly understands our question, or answer. I for one have a tendency too forget that we are from many regions, and countries, and in saying that, what one says, or asks, may not translate into language that means the same thing. That may be getting a little off the point, but, we are here to help one another become better modellers, and to enjoy the hobby. Let’s not get too techincal about how we express ourselves.
